OUR ENVIRONMENTAL OBLIGATIONS

This pronouncement is a testimony and demonstration of our commitment to responsible environmental stewardship and conservation of scarce raw materials and natural resources. It provides a wealth of information on our environmental commitment as it relates to our company policy, corporate operations, overall management style and leadership.

As a minority-owned independent “privately” operated Construction Company, dedicated to quality construction that produces valued products, we continuously work extremely hard to protect and enhance the financial, social, economic, and environmental quality of life for our customers, staff, investors, other clients, consulting employees, and our supply chain vendors.

We are committed to reduce our environmental impact because our long-term financial success depends upon it. Importantly, the success of managing our project depends strongly on how well we identify, analyze, and manage our environmental risks. Therefore, it becomes imperative that we find needed answers to all environmental questions impacting directly or indirectly upon our construction site, and the project, by conducting comprehensive environmental audits.

We will continue to work collaboratively and cooperatively with government regulating agencies, for environmental progress in all efforts aimed at reducing carbon and construction development footprints.

Prior to pre-bid, we will encourage learning and understanding of the environmental mitigation measures required and, factor these into the total construction cost and design.

We will encourage and incorporate Green Design into our construction projects and programs; while using recyclable materials; enforcing proper solid-waste disposal and management, maintaining energy conservation, and monitoring Project Cycle sustainability to ensure reduction of carbon and or development footprints.

Our use of cutting-edge science and technology to solve tough environmental challenges and problems makes us the envy of many in the industries. We conduct holistic scientific and technology-aided reviews of all our current and future materials, operations, and activities. While actively developing, promoting, and participating in the implementation of needed solutions through product or service development as remediation, and encouraging resource conservation, we continue to use the best available scientific and technological innovations and discoveries to guide our decision-making process. We are very patient in our actions and reactions, and we tend to evaluate the short- and long-term implications of all our business proposals, materials, operations, services and activities on the environment and our bottom line before making our decisions.

Our tenacious commitment to environmental regulations and compliance meets and far exceeds any set standards or requirements of regulatory authorities, as well as the expectations of our investors, owners, and the industry.

At BCC-G.C, our commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental issues is detailed in our corporate business plan and the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and is briefly summarized in the statement outlined below. These detail documents can be made available upon request.

To implement our health, safety and environmental policy, we will:

  • Maintain a strong business leadership position in the industry and continue to create new innovative, next-generation products and services essential to sustainability, uninterrupted growth, and development of our business operations.

  • Continually and proactively seek additional creative and innovative means to promote and enhance our current environmental responsibility by working with educational institutions, independent researchers, industry leaders and the public to establish realistic measurable goals, pollution control criteria and or standards that relate to our own operations and the use of our products.
  • Commit to limiting the impact of all our operations and activities on the environment through responsible business practices that espouse and implement energy-saving initiatives or promote conservation.
  • Establish environmental conservation programs and remediation plans involving natural and artificially induced energy conservation for renewable and non-renewable energy resources, soil, wild-life, water, waste, and solid waste including reduction of air pollutions that may have harmful effects on people or the environment.
  • Comply with government regulations designed to protect and improve the environment as it relates to controlling soil, air, water, and solid waste pollution.
  • Enthusiastically fight pollution and strongly pursue pollution abatement as a policy in our operations by using the best available methods at the lowest affordable cost. Pursue pollution abatement with vigor and treat with appropriate attention all materials and/or operational methods that may pose, cause, or contribute to danger or pollution during our operations.
  • Pursue our quest for new and improved products and processes compatible with environmental protection and maintain our resolve to provide unique harmony between our products and the environment without leaving carbon footprints.
  • Consider the effects of our products and operations on the environment, as well as on the health and well-being of people by aggressively developing and promoting technical knowledge and skills training for pollution prevention, abatement, and control.
  • Anticipate potential emergencies that threaten environmental quality. Review and treat with necessary caution any concern or materials and operations that may cause or contribute to environmental pollution. Subsequently prepare remedial emergency plans in response while keeping our owners, investors, employees, regulatory authorities, and the public informed.
  • Increase our commitment to meeting all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards by working cooperatively with governmental agencies charged with enforcing environmental protection laws and regulations.

We will create proper alignment between our business interests and the environment by assigning environmental responsibilities to all parties involved in the construction project during pre-construction meetings and prior to breaking ground.

We will identify hazardous and non-hazardous solid waste materials, and proper way of handling and disposal.

In summary, our long-term financial success depends greatly on our ability to identify, recognize and factor into the associated project expenses, federal environmental requirements; key responsible parties to fulfill these requirements; obtaining and filing necessary paper work; acquiring additional sources of information necessary to facilitate proper implementation; performing all required activities; obtaining essential permits; and implementing the environmental requirements prior to starting construction.
